Low-pressure boilers operate at under 15 psi, and thus have a lower temperature than higher pressure steam boilers. Water in low pressure boilers is heated up to 250ºF, and the steam pressure does not exceed 15 psi. Low-pressure steam may be more economical to produce than high-pressure steam.
