At Reimers there are models of electric boiler manufactured that have external wrapping to protect components from water and debri contact. Many small boilers built from Reimers operate in sterilizer or wash down applications. Although not approved for heavy water contact they will withstand occasional sprays and splashes. Live electrical parts should never be exposed to water contact for safety concerns.

An August 2023 publication explained that the state of Colorado set targets to convert to electric and away from even natural gas. Model developments are being built to demonstrate how this can be effective. Gov. Jared Polis in May signed Senate Bill 23-291, which eliminates incentives for installation of gas line extensions in new buildings and developments. Because utilities are no longer allowed to subsidize the expansion of the gas distribution system, all-electric homes and buildings will become more cost-effective, which could attract more developers and would save owners and tenants money on future energy costs, said Rosenblum.
