There are no gas, diesel, or other fossil fuel components.
Our boilers require no chimney and no fuel supply tank.
There is no tuning in or emissions monitoring.
There is no chance of improper air to fuel ratio which leads to CO, NOx, and smoke.
Operation of our boilers requires an electric power feed only.
Electrical energy is converted heat at the facility at near 100% efficiency using resistance heating elements.
The elements are submersed within a fluid, normally water, to receive the energy emitted from the element.
In the case of our hot water boilers, the fluid is circulated within the facility through various types of heat exchangers.
For our steam boilers, this water is heated to above the boiling point, thus creating steam that is utilized for various processes.
In recent years we have expanded our ability to control the electrical input.
We offer power staging controls to limit surges in the power grid.
For example the rated KW of the boiler could be divided up in multiple circuits.
Each circuit can be staged to power up in sequence with a time delay.
This gradually brings the boiler up to full load without shocking the grid.
We also can offer infinite control of power (SCR) released to the boiler to match only the demand.
This SCR process monitors conditions on the boiler and proportions the amount of power to release.
Industry refers to the ability to Turn Down or just use a portion of the available power.
The greater the Turn Down, the better the control and less surge seen.
Oil and gas burners have limited Turn Down ability.
An electric boiler with SCR technology is capable of over 100 times better Turn Down than fossil fuel boilers.
SCR operation is silent, fossil burners create fan, fuel pump, and combustion noise.
Reimers is working with improving fossil fuel boilers by offering an electric add-on package.
The controls provided offer the SCR, and staging features.
Other benefits are the controls can manage when electricity is used and when it is not.
This gives the operator the ability to use the cheapest energy available at a given time.
Power utilities like this as it levels the demand they see in their grid.
In summary electric boilers offer steam or hot water or hot fluid energy creation.
